By playing Pro Club mode, you can compete in 10 games per season with your Club and try to gain promotion through the league divisions. Create and grow your online Pro by competing in Club or Drop-In matches. Drop-In matches are a great start to grow your Player. When you’re ready, look for a Club on the Recommended Club screen that lists the people who follow you and which Club they belong to. You can also create your own Club and invite people you follow to join.
In Pro Club mode, You can either join a club or create your own club and to play ranked online matches. Drop-In Match menu in this mode will allow you to drop in to a random match and play online with other people who drop in to the same match session at the same time. Your Pro player will grow and improve his stats (OVR) throughout the matches you play.
As the Manager of a Club, you can access the Transfers screen to review Club invites. As your Pro grows, review your stats and progress under My Pro.

New Features
FIFA 20 Pro Clubs mode includes the following new features:
New Customisation System
It wouldn't be a list of the best FUT kits without a mention for Kaizer Chiefs. Back in the days FIFA 11 to FIFA 14, the Glamour Boys strip was like goldust and this season's stunning effort is.
FIFA 20 has a new Avatar system that replaces player creation across the entire game which includes Pro Clubs. This feature brings new ways to design your Virtual Pro’s visual characteristics via an improved 4 quadrant axis morphing tool which not only allows you to morph and define each facial feature to your liking, but to also go further than ever with added morphing options and skin tones.
This new system also provides all the features from the previous Virtual Pro system (from commentary name to updated goalkeeper gloves to setting your preferred celebration/set-piece styles). But EA say that they know that creating a player doesn’t only consist of making sure they “look right”, and that you have been requesting new positions for your Virtual Pros to play in to give you more control of the way you develop your game on the pitch. In FIFA 20, from community feedback, EA have added back the following positions: LF/RF, LM/RM and RWB/LWB.
These newly added positions are also accompanied by a revitalized player progression system within FIFA 20, where choosing between different positions, heights and weights will now have a deeper impact on how your Virtual Pro moves and feels, with these choices affecting all of your Pro’s physical attributes.
Stamina has also been reviewed and EA have tuned the values to create a risk vs reward system – if you invest in stamina and pace, you will sacrifice other attributes for your pro. All players will start their Pro Clubs experience at an 80 overall rating. From here, progression is earned through Drop In, League, and Cup Matches, with the remainder coming through player traits, which have also been revamped.
There are over 30 additional traits for FIFA 20 that, if paired together with specialty traits, will allow you to take customisation to the next level. They offer increased benefits to your pro, but at an increased cost and a potential effect on other attributes.
New Broadcast Package
EA Sports have worked on re-branding the mode for FIFA 20 to add to the immersion you feel when experiencing a Pro Clubs match. In FIFA 20, EA implemented broadcast features such as replay transition wipes, an on-screen watermark, club banners and a new Pro Clubs logo. The club banners are influenced and defined by a team’s primary and secondary colors, and show the name of the club in the stands. Stadiums that support banners will display both home and away club banners throughout the matches.
EA also added AR (augmented reality) overlays to match intros, half time, and goal scores to enhance your broadcast match experience. In addition to this, match types in Pro Clubs will now feature unique broadcast colors to distinguish the mode between Friendly, Cup, and League matches.
EA Sports also changed how you will experience goal celebrations with your team. Once you score a goal, you will be able to celebrate with your entire team as the camera will not zoom on the goal scorer, but instead stay zoomed out so you can coordinate custom celebrations with your teammates.
New Match Types
There are new ways to play Pro Clubs this year:
- House Rules Cups
- Practice Match
House Rules Cups takes the popular House Rules from FIFA’s Kick-Off mode and brings them into Pro Clubs. Replacing the old cups, House Rules Cups will rotate a match type every day of the week, with a different cup playable each weekend. The schedule is visible in-game so you’ll never miss your favourite cup.
Practice Match allows for Clubs to practice individually or as a team against varied AI difficulties, from beginner to legendary. In addition to the available difficulties, you can set which tactics you want to play against (i.e. Possession based or High Pressure) and what overall rating you want your AI opponents to be, from 80 rated all the way to 99 overall rated players.
EA say that they know that this has been a highly-requested feature in Pro Clubs and consider this to be a valuable first step, as EA look to the future of Pro Clubs.
Community Requested Improvements
In addition to all the new Gameplay Features coming for FIFA 20 – which will all be present within Pro Clubs – the team has also focused on tackling some of your frustrations to give you a better overall experience.
Some of the main ones that have been tackled in FIFA 20 Pro Clubs are as follows:
- ‘Any’ Stamina Bug – Stamina drained faster for the player controlling the ‘Any’ position
- CB in wall – The game now places taller forwards and midfielders in the wall to defend against Free Kicks
- GK Set Piece – Having a GK as captain will no longer affect game stability when your team has a set piece to take
- Club Trophy Celebration – Clubs can now watch the full Cup Celebration when you win
Another hot topic in the Pro Clubs community is Kit Clashing. This year EA have added over 25 new customizable kits and over 150 crests to choose from. Alongside these additions, EA have also added a Pre-Match Kit Select for all Pro Club matches. Once a match is found, the team captains can pick what kits their team will see locally for the upcoming match. The kits displayed represent what both teams currently have selected as their default home and away kits. The Pre-Match kit selection will work with our kit clashing logic in unison to help deliver the best experience, free of kit clashing for players.

What is Virtual Pro Experience in Pro Club?
Your Virtual Pro earns XP after you complete League/Cup Matches. Earning XP will increase your Virtual Pro’s OVR rating and attributes. Two kinds of XP can be earned: Base Match XP and Bonus XP.
What is Base Match XP?
Base Match XP will provide a number of XP to your Virtual Pro which is calculated based on its performance rating during the match. Each match rating is scored from 0.0 to 10.0 and provides a specific number of XP. These XP points are then given to each of the Virtual Pro’s attributes, based on whether that attribute is considered Primary, Secondary, or Tertiary for that position. Primary attributes gain 100% of the XP awarded based on the match rating, while Secondary is 70% and Tertiary is 30%.

For example, if your Virtual Pro earned a match rating of 7, which gives him with 950 Base Match XP. This means that all Primary attributes would gain 950 Base Match XP, all Secondary attributes would gain 665 Base Match XP, and all Tertiary attributes would gain 285 Base Match XP. Match ratings might not always be whole numbers. Partial ratings, such as 4.2, are rounded down to the nearest whole number rating in terms of calculating the XP given. So the 4.2 would round down to a 4.0 and provide 600 Base Match XP for the Virtual Pro.
What is Bonus XP?
Your Virtual Pro can earn Bonus XP in a match by completing specific actions. Bonus XP works differently than Base Match XP, as it is only applied to specific attributes based on the type of action that was completed. For example, when you score a goal with your Virtual Pro from outside the box, this will give your Virtual Pro’s Long Shot attribute 50 Bonus XP and their Shot Power attribute 20 Bonus XP.
How high can I raise my Virtual Pro’s attributes using XP?
Each attribute can be grown using Base Match XP or Bonus XP until it hits the attribute cap. Once an attribute has reached its cap, the only way to increase it further would be to purchase Traits, using Skill Points, as detailed later in this article. How high an attribute can grow from XP is determined by the Virtual Pro’s position and, in some cases, their height and weight. The attributes and the limits they can grow to with XP are detailed in a PDF, which you can download here.
What are Skill Points?
Skill Points in Pro Clubs are used to obtain Traits to improve your Virtual Pro. Your Virtual Pro will start with 15 Skill Points and can continue to earn them by playing League Matches and Cup Matches.
How can I earn Skill Points?
Skill Points can be earned in League Matches and Cup Matches. Your Virtual Pro can earn up to 110 Skill Points. 95 of those Skill Points can be earned from playing matches, while the other 15 are the initial Skill Points given to your Virtual Pro when you create them.
For the 95 points that are earned by playing matches, they are rewarded to the Virtual Pro after playing certain matches. The table below shows when Skill Points are earned by the Virtual Pro.
For example, let’s say that a Virtual Pro completes his 10th applicable Pro Clubs match. The Pro would have the 15 Skill Points from creation, 14 Skill Points awarded from previously completed matches, and the 5 Skill Points available from 10th match for a total of 34 Skill Points. After completing 100 applicable matches with your Virtual Pro, you will no longer be able to earn additional Skill Points.
What are Pro Clubs Traits, how do I get them, and what do they do?
Pro Clubs Traits are unique abilities or attribute boosts that you can get with your Skill Points. Buying traits allows your Virtual Pro’s attributes to increase beyond the attribute caps. The details around each of the traits and what they will unlock for your Virtual Pro can be found in-game.

When the Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium announced that up to 13,000 fans will be at their home opener on Sept. 20 versus the Buffalo Bills, with the Fish joining the Chiefs, Colts, and Jaguars in allowing fans in the stands, teams that won’t have a roaring, partisan crowd on their side began grousing. Bills head coach Sean McDermott, beholden to New York State regulations which ban fans from Orchard Park Stadium until further notice, called the uneven playing field “ridiculous.”
In the world of sports, like everywhere else, the ongoing complications of Coronavirus, both significant and mundane, continue.
With televised sports now back, the next big challenge is getting fans into the house safely so that a fun sporting event doesn’t turn into a dangerous super spreader event.
The Bills join at least two-thirds of the NFL’s clubs which won’t have any fans inside their stadiums to start the season.
The always entertaining, fast and furious NHL playoffs are showcasing generational talent like the Colorado Avalanche’s Nathan MacKinnon…but only on NBC Sports Network. No fans are seeing the magic live.
And of course MLB has their fun cardboard cutouts, occasionally pummeled by a screaming line drive.
But not every sport is following an exclusively made-for-TV script.
For example, MLS clubs FC Dallas, Sporting Kansas City, and Real Salt Lake have started playing in front of fans.
The sport that first brought fans back into indoor arenas, Professional Bull Riders (PBR), has been holding ticketed events since mid July – helping write a new live-event playbook by introducing new safety protocols that well become the blueprint for how sports fans can regain some semblance of normalcy.

In late April, PBR was the first major pro sport to return to action during COVID-19 at closed-to-fans, televised events in Logan County, Okla. With a stringent medical testing protocol, functional working groups never crossing paths, social distancing within those groups, and self-isolation procedures like putting all athletes and crew in their own RV on site at the spacious Lazy E Arena, the sport resumed the season without incident. About three weeks later, UFC staged a televised fight and then other sports like NASCAR started to come back with closed events of their own.
While the arenas were eerily empty, televised events were great for PBR. Cowboys and stock contactors who are not on contract and dependent on the sport for their livelihood were being paid again. And during challenging times, fans received a well-deserved diversion on CBS, CBS Sports Network and RidePass, the PBR’s digital network.
Still, to supplement its broadcast and partnership revenue, a sport like PBR needs ticket money as well as live fan engagement to satisfy those paying sponsors. The organization had to find a way to bring fans through sterilized turnstiles.
Working with arena and stadium operator ASM Global, PBR melded its protocols with ASM Global’s “Venue Shield,” an advanced environmental hygiene protocol developed for more than 325 ASM facilities globally. It became the first sport to host fans safely during the pandemic July 10-12 in Sioux Falls, S.D. Fan-attended elite tour events continued in Bismarck, N.D., Guthrie, Okla., and last weekend Salt Lake City.
One change was readily apparent on TV –partially filled grandstands with pockets of fans spaced throughout the arena. PBR says it’s selling only up to 50% venue capacity. PBR CMO Kosha Irby concedes in reality it’s more like 36-42% due to the configuration of “pod seating.”
While it sounds like something out of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, the pod seating concept is simple: fans in clusters of 2-8 seats separated so there’s no human interaction or cross over in getting to and from a seat.
As opposed to the closed-to-fan sports like NHL or WNBA, which have picked venue homes and settled into a contained bubble, PBR has events in different cities for the next two months heading to World Finals. Therefore, one of the league’s key protocols is requiring medical testing before anyone leaves their home to travel to a bull riding.
Once in market, everyone tests again and follows a set of guidelines for safe behavior throughout the weekend.
“We don’t want bring Coronavirus into a market, and we don’t want to take it out of the market,” Irby said. “That is our first and foremost concern guiding the protocols for holding safe and responsible events, and the processes are working.”
Indeed, since getting back to action in April, only five PBR athletes have tested positive prior to an event; each was immediately quarantined and sent home before the virus could be transmitted to anyone.
Other PBR protocols, which may vary slightly by arena, include:
- All PBR athletes and crew must wear masks at all times in the arena. (The one exception is during a bull ride, where masks may inhibit a rider’s vision.)
- Fans are strongly encouraged to wear masks; in markets like Ft. Worth, Tulsa and Lincoln, Nebraska, facial covering while in the arena is mandatory for fans, too. PBR follows local ordinances but will always encourage mask wearing.
- Fewer point of sale, box office and merchandise terminals to promote social distancing.
- A focus on digital ticketing and cashless transactions.
- Limiting merchandise sales to top-selling items to speed transaction time.
- “Touchless” fan experiences, including adjusted ingress and security checks, prepackaged food and beverage selections, increased informational signage, and one-way traffic areas.
- Increased sanitization of high-contact areas including bathrooms, concourses, concession stands, elevators, and dining areas.
- Elimination of promotional handouts.
To pull off any live sporting event safely in the foreseeable future, leagues and teams are grappling with how to eliminate congesting and congregation. Open space is good; packed crowds are anathema.
“In the past when promoting our events, we’d do anything in our power to avoid a photo showing empty seats. Today, that’s the money shot you want published,” according to PBR’s head of communications.
The limited crowds coming to watch the world’s best cowboys and rankest bulls are still loud –these folks love their bull riding – but the event feels different.

PBR has put on hold some traditional activations. You won’t see official entertainer Flint Rasmussen heading into the stands to give away a coveted Montana Silversmiths belt buckle for the “Cooper Tires Fan of the Night” promotion. Flint now orchestrates the presentation from the dirt with a staffer “outside the bubble” handing the lucky fan the buckle.
PBR can’t shoot T-shirts into the crowd or drop Ariat boots from the ceiling. The league is primarily using social and digital media to replace this exposure for partners.
During Coronavirus, familiar sights and sounds will go away. The NFL sidelines will look like a ghost town. You won’t see any mascots or cheerleaders or that friend who scored the amazing team social media gig standing on the 50-yard line.
PBR hasn’t said if they will ask venue operators to place an outright ban on the nacho pump, but it’s hard to imagine seeing one at a bull riding event, or for that matter, anywhere else anytime soon.
Of course, fans will survive without swag giveways and gooey condiments.
It’s great to be able to download a mobile ticket, pack your favorite mask, and enjoy the drama and thrills of live sports sitting in the incomparable arena atmosphere.
But, seriously, can a surefire vaccine come soon enough?
